Sarah Feldman | Founder & CEO
As a long time figure skater (home ice formerly Belmont Iceland), recent curler, and native to the Bay Area, Sarah hopes to help share the joy and history of ice sports through SVISA’S efforts in Silicon Valley.
In addition to her passion for figure skating, she is an avid technologist, leading data analytics infrastructure and strategy for a variety of firms including IVP and Tesla Motors. Prior to her time at Tesla, Sarah helped the effort for capital campaigning and construction of the City of Goleta’s Ice in Paradise (501c3) ice rink. She also has worked on a number of domestic commercial real estate projects with Bay Micro Inc. Sarah later pursued her MBA in Finance at the UCSD Rady School of Management.
Crystal Smith is a co-founder of the SVISA, co-founder of the Belmont Blades Synchronized Skating Team, founder of the Bay Area Skater’s Flash Mob and an experienced Professional Figure Skating Coach. Crystal has been actively involved in the sport of figure skating for 30 years as a National Competitor (USFS), World Competitor (ISI), Professional Show Skater (Holiday on Ice), Gold Medalist (USFS) and Gold Level Judge (ISI). She sought additional opportunities to challenge herself and develop her knowledge of the sport of figure skating through her work with the United States Olympic Committee’s Sports Medicine Department and U.S. Figure Skating’s Sports Medicine/High Performance Department as well as her degree in Kinesiology BS, Exercise and Movement Science with an emphasis in Neuromuscular Science. She believes that skating teaches skaters skills to help children be successful in school, work and in life.
Sandra has a PhD in Computer Science and her experience spans engineering and operations at various medium/large companies including AT&T, Yahoo!, and Cisco. Most recently, she has launched her own management consulting business.
Merrill Feldman (Treasurer) is a retired C-level executive with 35 years experience with numerous Bay Area companies. As a long time supporter of ice sports and former Belmont resident, he was frustrated by the recent closure of Belmont Iceland and sudden dearth of rinks on the Peninsula. In his retirement, Merrill oversees commercial real estate properties across the United States.
