Annette Garcia is a Silicon Valley native who has coached in the Bay Area for over 25 years including at our beloved Belmont Iceland, Yerba Buena Ice Skating Center in SF, and Redwood City Ice Oasis where she was coached by Mr. Alex McGowan. After almost 30 years in marketing, PR and events, Annette found her way back to her first love as an athlete – skating. Her greatest joy is found watching new students fall in love with the ice. Volunteerism is important to Annette. She’s been a volunteer coach for Brian Boitano’s YouthSkate, volunteers with Kristi Yamaguchi’s Always Dream Foundation and has participated in Scott Hamilton’s ScottCares, as both a volunteer and fundraising participant. Her dream is to one day see skating become more inclusive, especially for local underserved youth. She believes the great efforts of SVISA are key to making that happen.
