SVISA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering ice skating in the Silicon Valley community.
Inspired by the star-studded Olympic history of Silicon Valley’s ice skating community, we know that accessible recreation is essential aspect of vibrant communities.

2016: Incorporated by IRS as a 501c3
2017: First Anniversary Gala and led reopening of the San Mateo Nazareth Ice Oasis 🎉
2018: Second Anniversary Gala with Olympian Jeremy Abbott, Vincent Zhou, Alysa Liu, and more incredible skaters. Commended the ‘Committee to Save the Bridgepointe Ice Rink’
2019: Kick-started the *first ever* outdoor Sunnyvale Winter Ice Rink in Downtown Sunnyvale, partnering with Cityline, Google, Facebook, and the City of Sunnyvale. 🎉 Salon: Fire & Ice brought together influencers from all over Silicon Valley and a special message from 2002 Olympic Medalist, Timothy Goebel and National Champion Alysa Liu.
2020: Launched “Robots on Ice” a first for the Silicon Valley, combining Tech and Ice, partnering with Skydio, Olympian Polina Edmunds, Homebrew Robotics Club, SVCE, and Sunnyvale Rotary.
[Pandemic]
Late 2021: Relaunched, post-pandemic, “Robots on Ice” in partnership with Sunnyvale Winter Ice, Tremors, Robot Trio, Homebrew Robotics, Girl Scouts of Northern California, and many other great partners, netting 300+ attendees.
2023: Robots on Ice returned to Palo Alto’s Winterlodge in partnership with Tremors, Homebrew Robotics, and more.
2024: Robots on Ice moved to San Francisco’s Yerba Buena Ice Center, adding high school robotics competitions with Aragon, Mills, and Menlo-Atherton robotics teams, with beautiful skating by Olympian Polina Edmunds, AR/VR Developer and 2x USFS Medalist Jo Seitz, and Robot Trio, Merklebot, Robot Comedy, and more.
